Hey, welcome!

I’m Leah, a clinical herbalist, marketing professional, and just-for-fun film photographer based in Queens, NY. I created Opal Apothecary with the goal of sharing my knowledge and use of plants in a fun and uncomplicated way for those intrigued by how to incorporate herbs into their daily lives.

My journey started when I was young, you know, mixing “potions” in the backyard with grass, roots and flowers, and renting every witchy book my 12 year old self could from the library. Fast forward to adulthood, working full-time meant constant exposure to office sickness. Instead of relying on over-the-counter fixes I reached for garlic tea, soups and utilizing that PTO to rest. I'd always bring some cloves of garlic to offer to my co-workers as well.

In 2020, I was diagnosed with SIBO and decided to take a natural approach to healing. That led me to enroll in my first Western herbalism school, Gathering Thyme, where I fell in love with the realm of herbalism. From there I yearned for an education more deeply rooted in ancestral vibes and enrolled in Sacred Vibes' apprenticeship. I graduated Sacred Vibes in 2024 a clinical herbalist!

Now I'm here continuing to learn, experiment, and share along the way. I appreciate you being here, it's going to be fun xx.
