Hey, welcome!

I’m Leah; a clinical herbalist, marketing professional, and just-for-fun film photographer based in Queens, NY. I created Opal Apothecary with the goal of sharing my knowledge of plants through both science and spirit.

My journey started when I was young, you know, mixing “potions” in the backyard with grass, roots and flowers. Fast forward to adulthood: working full-time meant constant exposure to office sickness. Instead of relying on over-the-counter fixes, I reached for garlic tea, honey, and herbs I’d research to help protect and restore my health. I'd always bring some cloves of garlic to offer to my co-workers as well.

In 2020, I was diagnosed with SIBO and decided to take a natural approach to healing. That led me to enroll in my first Western herbalism school, Gathering Thyme, where I fell in love with the art of herbalism. From there I sought an education more deeply rooted in ancestral wisdom and spirit, and found myself accepted into Sacred Vibes apprenticeship and graduated Sacred Vibes in 2024 a clinical herbalist!

Now I'm here continuing to learn, experiment, and share along the way. I appreciate you being here, it's going to be fun xx.
